Toric contact lenses

These lenses are designed to counteract astigmatism, or visual refraction. This is an inherited condition which can be aggravated by factors such as continuously working in bad light. Common symptoms of astigmatism would be headaches, tired eyes and squinting. Approximately 45% of those who need to reconfigure their sight are affected by astigmatism.

While regular lenses are spherical in shape, toric lenses have a combination of spherical and cylindrical shapes. Today thin, comfortable lenses are available that are designed with the help of computer technology welding and forming the lenses into a perfectly formed, custom-made specification. The result is a comfortable fit for the wearer, providing a corrected sight capacity.
